As mentioned above, polymers play a very key role in plastic production. A polymer is a type of macromolecule that consists of a large number of repeats. There are different types of polymer and different types give special characteristics to plastic.
In general, plastic raw materials are classified into five different polymer groups.
Polyethylenes
These primary plastic materials exist in two forms, light and heavy. Light polyethylene (LDPE) is a type of this material that has a long chain of carbon atoms instead of hydrogen atoms. There are also heavy polyethylenes (HDPE), which are unbranched polymer chains, so the intermolecular pulling force and tensile strength are very high.
Polypropylenes
This category is one of the most widely used plastic raw materials in the world.
Polystyrenes
This part is a synthetic polymer made of styrene monomer, which is divided into three types: normal, resistant and expansion. Polystyrene is produced from styrene monomer.
Engineering plastics
They are a group of plastic raw materials or plastic raw materials that are widely used in the world with better mechanical and thermal properties.
Polyethylene terephthalate
This type of polyethylene is also widely used in the textile industry and is known as polyester.
